Claude Edwards , president of Bryant Bank, was elected 2010 chairman of the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama during a recent organizational meeting of the chamber's board of directors. He succeeds Randy Skagen, vice president and general manager of Nucor Steel Tuscaloosa. Edwards, a 32-year veteran in banking, has been president of Bryant Bank since its inception in 2005. A Tuscaloosa native, he is a graduate of Tuscaloosa High School, the University of Alabama and the Graduate School of Banking of the South at Louisiana State University. He is also a graduate of Leadership Tuscaloosa and is a member of the 2009-10 class of Leadership Alabama. Edwards serves on the boards of numerous civic and charitable organizations, including the Black Warrior Council of the Boy Scouts of America, the Tuscaloosa County Industrial Development Authority, the DCH Foundation, Hospice of West Alabama and Counseling Ministry Professionals, and is chairman of the capital campaign for Caring Days
