This story is about what the Christmas holidays are all about—time with family and friends. With the beginning of the traditional shopping season starting at Thanksgiving here in the U.S., the countdown begins. Many may wish this past year to be over and to put 2009 into the history books, never to return. But let’s be positive and look forward to and plan for an enjoyable holiday season and a healthy, happy New Year. We can give and receive the best we can under the circumstances and shine with the joy of giving. This gentleman just happens to run a company called Lamborghini Products right in my own Boca Raton backyard here in Florida. They distribute the watches for Tonino Lamborghini and many other creative, unusual presents. I love the name especially, as many of us are into named products for things we buy. And the famous name is well represented: Tonino Lamborghini’s attention to detail in his designs gives his prestigious brand both power and elegance. He said that, typically, Italian people follow their regional cooking traditions and they start organizing their Christmas lunch a minimum of one week in advance. The meal is a family affair that can last for hours. Since he lives in Bologna with his family, he celebrates there. Usually they will eat “tortellini in brodo,” which is a typical pasta filled with meat, mortadella, and Parmesan cheese in a special home-made meat soup. This dish is followed by boiled beef with sauces, roast meat with potatoes, and vegetables. The “Town Life Car” was in the news in 2007—what made it different and where does it stand now? Lamborghini said, “I designed the concept of my little city car ‘Ginevra’ in 1989; then in 1992, I founded the Town Life Company.” In 1997–98, he started the commercialization of the cars but then in 2001 sold the company. Now it is an independent company. He neither has control over it nor gives any feedback about its commercial and marketing strategies. It was, to him, one of his several successful hobbies. “From the concept of a new model to the planning of the first prototype, the Centro Stile supports my creative intuitions and my designers follow all the stages of the creation process of all my branded products. I also share comments and suggestions with the Communication Office, for the creations and planning of new campaigns and promotion of my activities,” he says. He also meets the Financial Chief and the CEO of the company once a day, because he likes to maintain full control over all the operations.
