Q: I'm looking at a Triumph Street Triple vs a Z1000, and might think about other bikes as well.

Having a "different" brand is cool, except when it breaks and no one can fix it for a price you can afford.

A: If you have never owned a Triumph, then now you should!

They are superbly reliable.
All consumables (oils, plugs, filters) cost same as Jap bikes.
Chains and sprockets same, tyres etc.
It's difficult to compare major costs as Triumph and others dont seem to need anything these days!

I've riden a Sprint and 2 Tigers in the last decade.
In over 100k I've never had a fault.
Service them, like all machines, and they'll look after you.......... :-)

Also, as the engine is so torquey, it doesnt knacker the chain so quickly!
A nice even spread of power rather than nasty surges!

If you aint had one yet, give it a go.

Q: I just got a Triumph Legend 900 and on the windshield there is a sticker with a rat on it, and the letters R A T. What does that mean? And, does anyone know about the Triumph legend? I had never heard of it until someone traded it in at a local dealership. Can you tell me about it ? And what is a Legend TT? My bike doesn't say TT on it anywhere. Is there a difference? Thanks for the help!!!!

I dont know much about them ,cuz i dont fool with bikes much anymore.


There's bound to be a bunch of "Groups/Clubs" who know every intimate detail,,all the tips & tricks,,etc,etc

Triumphs have been Cult Classics,,,'bout as long as they've been motorcycles,,,,so there's always somebody who knows "Everything" there is to know about them.

The Hinkley machines,,I just dunno squat .
