Football Notes: Chargers hope returning pieces are fit for a title
Aug 23, 2011The first time I saw Leland last season was in the opening round of the playoffs, and the Chargers didn’t disappoint. They won 52-6 that night and got contributions from seemingly every player on the roster. That roster is exactly what sticks out from that game, and makes Leland such a dangerous team entering this season.
As I kept checking the list to see who was contributing, I was surprised to see that virtually every player on the field that night had at least another year of high school left. The quarterback? A junior. The hard-hitting two-way star? A junior. The productive backup running backs? Just sophomores.
Not surprisingly, then, the Chargers are looking at the makings of a special season. Head coach Mike Carrozzo has 17 returning starters, and calls this “one of the most talented teams I’ve ever coached.” Star linebacker/running back Chris Santini , who last week committed to Boise State , said the Chargers have “really come together.”

Q: I need to set the correct time to a Hamilton Railway Special Pocket Watch? How would I go about doing this? I'm told I need to remove the crystal? Would I need anything to do that? Thanks in advance for the answers.
A: American pocket watches had two main methods of setting-pendant set and lever set.
Railroad watches are all lever set, or at least those made after 1906 always were, so this is more than likely lever set.
Anyway, if it's pendant set, you just need to click the winding crown out and turn it until the correct time is set.
On a lever set watch, you need to remove the bezel, which is the metal ring that holds the crystal. Generally(especially on lever set watches), this will just screw off. Hold the watch in your left hand, with the stem resting against your thumb. Press down on the crystal with your right hand, and turn. It should come loose. If it's tight, use a jar opener to help.
Alternatively, the bezel may be hinged on, in which case it will pry loose with a finger nail.
Once the bezel is off, locate the set lever, which will be at the edge of the dial at around 1:00 or 2:00. Using your fingernail, carefully pull it away from the watch case, using a sort of semi-circular motion. Once the lever's out, you can set the time by turning the winding crown. Slide the lever back in when you're finished, and replace the bezel.
Q: show links if possilble
A: What someone will pay for it. Check EBay or some other site to see if any are listed. Take it to a watch repair shop or local jeweler to get an opinion first hand.
