With a talented core on all four teams, Calloway County and Murray golf should be an exciting event to watch as the seasons tee off. While both the Tigers and Lakers field a veteran lineup in boy’s golf  the girls find a little younger is the better way to go as a combined two upperclassmen suit up between the teams.

On the guys side, Calloway County returns three of the top five from their regional championship team in seniors Daniel Harper and Hunter Garrison and junior Matt McReynolds while senior Ryan Butler, junior Hugh Paschall and freshman Connor Wagner battle for the final two spots.

Despite losing last year’s top two scorers, Brock Simmons and Chasten Howard, Head Coach Steve Smith said he feels the team can make a repeat appearance at the state tournament, where his squad finished 7th a season ago.

For them to get there again though the team will need steady play from their top player but, luckily for Calloway County, Smith says they have two to fill the role.
