This lot contains a solid gold hunting cased A. Lange & Sohne pocket watch. S D. U. F. Grade by A. Lange. The movement is 43mm, ¾ plate, number 51888. The watch is 54 MM in outside diameter. Engraved on movement, “Deutsche Uhrenfabrikation Glashutte 51888”. The D. U. F. Grade had pressed jewels. These jewels are White Sapphire. White Sapphire is denser, thus harder than Ruby. The movement has a brass and nickel compensated balance with “Timing” and “Quartering” screws. The balance has a tempered blued steel hairspring with the “Breguet” overcoil. The watch has micrometric adjusting with the “Whiplash”. The enamel dial is excellent. We see NO Chips, NO Cracks, and NO Hairlines. The Spade hands are good. The dial has Railroad line minutes with “Roman” hours. The dial is signed, “Deutsche Uhrenfabrikation Glashutte I/S A. Lange & Sohne”. The movement is in a 14K solid yellow gold Hunter watchcase. The case is signed, “B.W. C. Co, made by the Broadway Watch Case Company. The front cover has a good catch and lift spring. The bezel has a glass crystal. The case has an urn pendant, a good ball crown and a ring bow. This watch winds and sets correctly and is running with a good motion. On our Vibrograf, this watch is running plus 5 seconds a day.
