Citizen Eco-Drive watches use the simplest, yet most technically advanced power generating and storage system in the Watch Manufacturing Industry. Citizen Eco-Drive series watches are powered by energy derived from a number of light sources. Making replacing batteries an act of the past, the Eco-Drive is a timepiece that converts the infinite source of light into driving energy.

Not using batteries of a disposable type, this timepiece neither reduces the limited resources on earth nor causes pollution either. It is easy on nature. The rechargeable battery does not incorporate any harmful metals like mercury, lead, and cadmium. Besides, harmful products such as Freon are not used for the production of the product and materials. That is because this watch has been crafted in consideration to the earth.

This rare timepiece is equipped with numerous functions including a perpetual calendar that changes the year, month and day automatically through February 28, 2100, including leap years, a time difference correction function that makes it possible to easily change the time difference without stopping the watch, and a power save function that reduces current consumption when the solar cell is not exposed to light.

The watch is totally made of DURATECT Titanium. This is a unique version of Titanium which has been specifically hardened and made to be very resistant to scratches. Titanium is also 40% lighter, tougher and more durable than Steel. It is a hypo-allergenic metal as it is nickel-free. Due to this, the watch is very light for its size and feels very comfortable on the wrist even when the skin perspires.
