OK, here´s a chance to acquire your own Suveraen! Up for auction is this collectible and interesting Omega Suverän, in stainless steel with a nice silvery/ creme and black bullseye dial in good condition from 1945. Suverän was made exclusively for the Swedish market during and after WWII. Suverän means Sovereign, or Excellent.
Case, measuring 35 mm excl the crown, ref.no 2400-7, very good condition, just perfectly normal wearing. Has just been cleaned in soap and water, no polishing! Caseback is very nice, no marks or scratches worth mentioning, bust has a shallow engraving, a monogram "OJ" and a date and year; "19 23/9 46". Crown is a replacement, not signed (and they weren´t back then). Easy to grip and to wind with. Crystal is new and is free from scratches.
Nice bullseye dial in black and silvery/ creme, evenly and pretty lightly aged. This dial scores 7 out of 10, everything is still there and clearly visible. The painted arabic indexes are in good condition, has dried and blackened over the decades but are still clearly contrasted to the background. Perfect silvery hands, perfect and very nice filling in the hour and minute hand. Steelblue subsecond hand shows some minor corrosion, but no big deal. An enchanting dial, despite the aging in it!
Movement is Omega´s famous cal 30T2 PC, with 15 jewels and serialno 10.4427.082, dating this watch to 1945. The movement is in great running condition. I don´t hesitate to say very good vintage condition, on this movement. The watch keeps good time with a good power reserve. The movement is easily wound.
As a summary; a both highly collectible, interesting and beautiful old Omega watch! If you don´t have a Suverän in the collection, this one will do nicely until a even better speciemen comes around. If ever! Don´t miss it!
