Q: I am a large person and my wrists are larger thanthe regular 8in.watch bands is there a company that specializes in larger people?Plaese help if you can. I miss not wearing my watches.

A: I unfortunately do not know of one.

I DO know however how you could continue wearing a watch no matter what your wrist size was.

If you are willing to buy a band of the link type, such as the fixed metal links or the kind called 'twistaflex' (an old timex brand) that expands to slide over your hand and you buy two of them you can combine the links together to make a single band. Just as links are removed to make a band smaller for people with thin wrists they can also be joined together to make a larger diameter one.

You can still center the clasp on a fixed sized metal band if you remove the links in an even amount from each side. If you do not want to do it a jeweler can do it for free if you buy the bands from them - which leads me to the second suggestion.

If you go to a jewelry store that sells jewelry only they should know right away if there are larger diameter bands available and will sell them to you.

After all, weight lifters and football players wear watches too and I am sure their watchbands are not any more 'off the rack' than their shirts and suits.
